Engineer Senior Software Engineer I - Platform Enablement at Wrapbook

Senior backend engineer owns cross-cutting platform systems including approval workflows, permissions, authentication, and notifications, building scalable infrastructure in Ruby on Rails.

Senior Remote Posted about 1 hour ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Us:

Wrapbook is the AI platform for production finance. We’re building a system of action that puts finance teams in control of their whole production, from payroll, to spend, to accounting.

Built for feature films, TV, and commercials, Wrapbook is trusted by teams at Netflix, Paramount, Anonymous Content, and more. With backing from Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Jeffrey Katzenberg’s WndrCo, our team of 350+ is using AI to transform how finance teams work and empower them to do more with less.

The Opportunity - Senior Software Engineer I, Platform Enablement (Remote - CANADA)

Wrapbook is looking for a Senior Software Engineer I to join PANDA, our platform and technical enablement team. PANDA owns the cross-cutting systems every product team at Wrapbook relies on: the Approval Workflow Engine (AWE), permissions for customers and internal employees, authentication (Auth0/MFA), and notifications. This isn’t a feature team — it’s platform infrastructure with deep technical complexity and broad cross-team impact, and the systems you build will be relied on company-wide.

What you’ll do:

  • Own and evolve cross-cutting platform systems — approval workflows, permissions, authentication, and notifications — bringing strong architectural judgment to state management, data integrity, scalability, and backward compatibility for shared infrastructure

  • Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts across the teams that consume PANDA’s services to provide elegant solutions to Wrapbook customer problems

  • Lead and decompose complex, ambiguous projects into actionable technical tasks, including migration paths that don’t break dependent teams

  • Write performant, scalable, and secure backend code in Ruby on Rails

  • Design and optimize data models and SQL queries (PostgreSQL)

  • Participate in code reviews — including reviewing changes from other teams that touch PANDA-owned systems — mentor and learn from fellow engineers, and help raise the technical bar

  • Actively improve our tools, processes, and best practices

  • Participate in an on-call rotation, responding to production issues and partnering with the team to resolve them quickly

What you’ll have:

  • You’re a full-stack engineer with a strong technical background building production web applications and APIs, ideally in Ruby on Rails

  • Strong architectural insight — you reason about tradeoffs and select the right abstractions when working in shared, cross-team systems, and understand the risks of changing shared infrastructure that many teams depend on

  • High ownership mentality — self-directed and solution-oriented, comfortable driving ambiguous work forward with only light-touch review

  • Experience on a platform, infrastructure, or enablement team — you’ve built systems that other teams consume, not just end-user-facing features, and you’re comfortable balancing “ship our roadmap” with “unblock everyone else.” Bonus points if that experience includes approval workflows, role-based access control (RBAC), or identity/auth products (Auth0, session management) in a multi-tenant SaaS product

  • A collaborative mindset — experience partnering across the product teams that consume shared platform services to align architecture with business goals

  • An AI-centric workflow — comfort using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code) and beginning to build AI-enabled agents or MCP servers as part of your engineering toolkit

  • Excellent communication skills that let you land ideas clearly with your team and cross-functional partners

  • Comfortable working in two-week cycles with Agile/Scrum-style planning

  • You understand how to write, analyze, and optimize SQL queries (PostgreSQL is a plus)

  • You are customer-focused and like to pay attention to detail and value quality

Our Tech Stack:

  • Full stack Ruby on Rails (Frontend & Backend)

  • StimulusJS

  • Redis

  • Sidekiq

  • PostgreSQL

  • Kubernetes

Why Join Us:

At Wrapbook, creativity meets technology — and not just in the product.

In addition to a competitive salary and all the benefits you can expect from a fast-growing technology company, you’ll get access to a team of creative problem solvers and the chance to see your contributions make large impacts Benefits include:

  • Unlimited Paid Time Off

  • Work from anywhere in Canada and USA

  • Learning and Development opportunities

What this role involves

Location: Remote

Who We Are:

Ordergroove is building the future of Relationship Commerce by providing an innovative, customizable, and reliable subscriptions and incentives platform. We’re looking for bright, talented people who are excited about innovation, customer experience, and the rapidly changing world of Relationship Commerce.

About the Role:

More than 11% of American adults have a subscription powered by Ordergroove. We’re hiring a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer to help us bring relationship commerce to the next level with autonomous subscription programs.

The Merchant Teambuilds the high-traffic, low-latency subscription experiences behind some of the world’s most recognizable consumer brands. We build the key levers that merchants use to manage their subscription program, and the interfaces customers use to create and manage their subscriptions. Our team ships code that is used as a customizable base for brands across e-commerce and which is resilient enough to stay fast through the worst Black Friday and Cyber Monday surges.

The engineers who thrive on our team are builders with a growth mindset. They’re intrinsically invested in the product and customer experience, not just the ticket in front of them. They like solving hard problems and keep learning what makes a subscription experience worth keeping. That curiosity comes with ownership. They stand behind what they ship to millions of subscribers, and that care shows up directly in customer retention, in trust from the brands we power, and in the kind of work this team gets to take on next.

We’re looking for a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer who can help us continue and grow this mission. Our ideal candidate leads large initiatives end to end, operates with real autonomy, and makes the whole team better through how they design, document, and mentor. Someone who is genuinely excited about where AI is taking this work and who wants to do the most impactful engineering of their career where what you build actually matters.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the brainstorming, scoping, design and architecture of large-scale technical initiatives end to end, operating with significant autonomy on projects that span weeks or months
  • Design and develop subscription management and retention (increasingly personalized with AI) that will be viewed and used by millions of customers
  • Design and build AI agents that recommend and test subscriber retention tactics
  • Serve as a peer technical leader and mentor, raising the bar for code quality, system design, and engineering practices across the team
  • Build features across the full stack using a range of frontend and backend frameworks
  • Set the best-in-class standards for frontend development across the company

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years of full stack software engineering, with at least 3 years operating at a senior level
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead large, ambiguous technical projects from design through production
  • Advanced knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and CSS
  • Experience designing and supporting scalable full-stack solutions
  • Experience using backend languages and frameworks to build services and APIs
  • Values quality and best-in-class user experience
  • Passionate about leveraging AI and eager to learn new skills
  • Skilled communicator, comfortable articulating complex ideas, driving technical discussions, and influencing decisions across teams
  • Openness to growth: while deep technical expertise is the priority, we value engineers who are open to the full spectrum of their long-term career path

Bonus Points:

  • Familiar with Google Cloud and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with accessibility best practices and WCAG Level AA
  • Experience with NodeJs, Django, Go
  • Experience with one or more of e-commerce products, high traffic SaaS products
  • Proven track record engaging in the design of new systems at scale

Compensation: Starting at $170,000 base salary, plus stock options and competitive benefits.

About Ordergroove:

Ordergroove powers recurring revenue for the world’s largest and most innovative retailers including L’Oreal, Dollar Shave Club, La Colombe Coffee, Bonafide Health, BarkBox, and more. As a direct result, more than 11% of adult Americans have a subscription powered by Ordergroove. Our technology makes seamless, one-of-a-kind subscriber and membership experiences possible to turn one-time transactions into profitable recurring customer relationships.

At Ordergroove, we focus on flexibility and empowering our team to make the right decisions for themselves. We have a flexible PTO, a totally remote workforce, and an annual personal development budget that you use for what matters to you (wellness, career development, productivity at home, etc). And of course, that is on top of the basics like competitive compensation (including stock options) and incredible, affordable benefits.

Engineer Lead Engineer, Order Management at Stitch Fix

Lead Engineer designs and builds order management systems, leads complex technical initiatives from discovery to production, and partners across teams to scale checkout and fulfillment infrastructure.

What this role involves

About Stitch Fix, Inc.

Stitch Fix (NASDAQ: SFIX) Stitch Fix is redefining retail by combining human creativity with advanced data science and Generative AI. As we build the future of personalized shopping, we’re equally committed to building yours.  We believe in investing in our team as much as our technology. Join us to be a trendsetter in the industry and help us redefine what’s possible for our clients, while we help you reach your full potential.

About the Role

As a Lead Engineer on the Order Management team, you will help set the technical direction for the systems that power checkout, order creation and lifecycle management, fulfillment orchestration, and integrations with critical internal and third-party partners. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will own complex initiatives from discovery through delivery, translating business and operational objectives into scalable technical solutions.

You will partner closely with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, engineers, and teams across Inventory, Fulfillment, Client Experience, and Operations to coordinate work across services, data flows, and operational processes. You will design and build production systems, lead technical decisions through ambiguity, and raise the bar for reliability, maintainability, and operational readiness. Your work will directly impact client trust, revenue, and the efficiency of our fulfillment operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex, multi-sprint Order Management initiatives from problem framing and technical design through implementation, production rollout, and post-launch measurement, independently owning outcomes and driving execution through ambiguity.
  • Design and build reliable, stateful services and workflows across checkout, order lifecycle management, fulfillment orchestration, and partner integrations, with a focus on correctness, data consistency, scalability, and explicit failure and recovery patterns.
  • Drive technical decisions by evaluating and documenting options, constraints, and tradeoffs, while balancing near-term delivery with long-term maintainability, system simplification, technical debt reduction, and engineering velocity.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to define scope, milestones, estimates, dependencies, success criteria, and delivery risks, connecting technical decisions to measurable client, business, and operational outcomes.
  • Strengthen engineering and operational excellence through automated testing, observability, safe rollout and rollback strategies, incident leadership, post-incident remediation, code and design reviews, and mentorship that raises engineering standards across the team.

How AI and tools show up in your day-to-day work:

  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate discovery, implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, and problem-solving while applying strong engineering judgment to validate outputs and ensure production quality.
  • Work across our engineering ecosystem, including Golang, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, AWS, Kafka, Temporal, and Datadog, to build, operate, and continuously improve business-critical systems.
  • Evaluate and adopt new AI capabilities, engineering tools, and technologies that improve developer productivity, system reliability, and the speed and quality of delivery.

About You

This is what you’ll need to succeed in this role from day 1.

Requirements:

  • You have 5+ years of software engineering experience, with demonstrated impact building and operating complex, business-critical backend, distributed, or workflow systems with high correctness and availability requirements.
  • You are fluent in at least one modern programming language, such as Go, Ruby, Java, or Python, and are comfortable learning and working across languages. Our current stack is primarily Golang and Ruby.
  • You have strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including data modeling, transactional semantics, schema evolution, and performance considerations, as well as experience operating services on a major cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • You have a track record of independently leading complex, multi-sprint initiatives from discovery and design through launch and operational follow-through, translating ambiguity into clear technical direction and measurable outcomes.
  • You communicate clearly in writing and conversation, translate technical complexity into business outcomes, and collaborate effectively across Product, Engineering, Operations, and other technical and non-technical partners.
  • You bring a well-reasoned technical point of view while remaining open to evidence, alternative perspectives, and better solutions, and you use your expertise to mentor engineers and raise the technical bar for the broader team.
  • You value automated testing, continuous delivery, observability, safe releases, reliability, and incident learning as essential components of engineering quality.
  • You are fluent with AI-assisted software development tools, such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies, and use them thoughtfully to improve engineering efficiency and outcomes.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in e-commerce, order management, payments, inventory, logistics, fulfillment, or another high-throughput transactional domain.
  • Experience designing integrations with third-party systems and accounting for partial failure, latency, consistency, recovery, and partner operational constraints.
  • Familiarity with technologies in our ecosystem, including Golang, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, AWS, Kafka, Temporal, and Datadog; experience with these specific technologies is helpful but not required.

You’ll love working at Stitch Fix because you will…

  • Fuse human creativity and styling expertise to redefine personalized retail.
  • Set a high bar for our craft and drive measurable impact across fashion, tech, and data science.
  • Actively leverage AI and modern tech to evolve how work gets done.
  • Lead with innovation, think boldly, and aren’t afraid to challenge conventional retail norms.
  • Win together in a collaborative, low-ego environment where diverse perspectives are celebrated.
  • Be client obsessed by putting our customers at the heart of every decision to deliver unmatched personalization and trust.
  • Support our team with competitive compensation packages, comprehensive benefits, and meaningful career growth.
